Hi!

Let's say I have an avi video with a resolution of 640x480. Do I have to resize to 480x352 and add black borders for correct SVCD aspect ratio as suggested by some guides or is it better to resize to 480x480 without adding extra borders?

I don't understand this, because when creating a VCD I can resize to 352x240 and the TV shows the picture on the whole screen, but SVCDs have black borders?

Thx in advance.

Your original avi is full screen, right ? Then your mpeg video has to be full screen too. just resize your 640*480 to 480*480 and you'll get it :)
That's because svcds don't display 1:1.

Oooops, just saw a thing : you're from germany. If you create a 480*480 svcd, it will be a ntsc svcd. for PAL, you should use 480*576.

Thanks for your reply :)

My TV and DVD-Player are both capable of NTSC playback - nice!!! :D
