Hi all,

Is there a way/hack to get DivX 4.xx to encode/decode video higher than 6000kps for archiving purposes?

This can be achieved by setting the minimum and maximum quantizers to 2. After all, the "bitrate" setting is just a guide the codec uses for deciding which quantizer to use.

If a value of 2 isn't "archival" enough for you, you could try XviD in 1-pass quantizer mode, with the quantizer set to 1. This will be substantially larger, however.
