Hy
This was not my first use of DVD2SVCD.
I have made about 10 movies. But the last "Term. 1" I had problems.
When I watch the movie on the PC it runs perfect. But in the DVD Player I get a bad picture. I get big boxes (große Kästchen), the picture is flicker(flimmert), also in still frame (Standbild). I used the same standard settings. And the other movie I made after the T1 was well. I don´t know how to solve this problem. I´m sorry it´s very difficult to explain what I see on the screen (especially in english).
Are there any differents DVD´s ? The T1 is a old movie ! All new ones like 50-35 (:- minutes are O.K.!!!
Can s.b. give me a tip.

Thanks

Chris

You should probably deinterlace the movie. Or perhaps you need to swap fields. Mozart has a way to do this, just search this forum.

@dvd2svcd
Thanks. I will try it with the deinterlace.
But what do you mean with swap fields and Mozart ???

Hi Leck´me,

what dvd2svcd meant, was the following:

1) It could be possible that you have an interlaced movie you have to deinterlace - usually there's no need to do so if watching on a TV set. I only once had to deinterlace a movie and used "SeparateFields/SelectEvery (PAL)" successful with it.

2) It could also be a field order problem as interlaced material can be encoded in two ways a) "upper field first" or b) "bottom field first". If you are using the defaults for D2S then "Upper field first" is checked in "Encoder" tab. Try to uncheck it and encode only one small chapter with this setting (see Q47 in Q&A how to do that) and see if this solves the problem.

If this does not solve the problem then search the forum and use "field AND order" for the keywords and "Mozart" for the user name as Mozart has a procedure on how to deal with this possible CCE field order bug.

Greetings,
Gerti

@gerti67

to 1)
I have the problem by watching the SVCD on TV not on PC !!!
The picture is wobbly (wackelig) when somethings moves. And you can see big blocks of pixels. Also the light things in a pictutre is flashing. But it is only by the movie Terminator 1.
I have also tried to burn the .mpf file. But it was the same fault.
So it must be something before mux and cutting.

so I think the problem could be 2) or ???

I will test it...
