Any comparisons between x264 and Open264

I don't normally pay attention to built-in browser encoders.

I was recently told that web browsers use Cisco's Open264 (https://www.openh264.org/faq.html), not x264. I presume this is 99% for in-browser RTC videoconferencing.

Has anyone done any quality/perf/etc comparisons between Open264 and x264?

Nope, never reall looked at it. Isn't it just Base profile only?

Any special advantages for realtime use, compared to what x264 can or could do?
It's curious that they'd want to start their own.
