Finally managed to do this successfully, with big thanks to LIGHTNING_UK.

Thought I'd summarise for any other complete newbies like me !

First off this method requires an NTFS partition of at least 5 gig, I used a 15 gig partition. This is because the DVD image (which is the easiest to way burn it) will likely exceed 4gig in size.

Use DVDDecrypter to rip the DVD to an ISO image (Press the R key when DVDDecrypter loads) and make sure it writes to an NTFS partition.

When the rip is complete burn it to a DVD-R (or DVD-RW preferred for testing) using Instant VOB and select the UDF Video DVD option. This will then ask for the image file to use.

Worked first time for me !

Again many thanks to LIGHTNING_UK. For the s/w also !!

Great post !

I was all eager to try it when I realised that I can't find Instant VOB

Could you point me in the right direction please

What if the .iso file is greater than 4.7gb, does instant VOB allow you to reduce the number of vob's to be burned so it will fit on one dvd-r?

I tryed to do what you said. I have the image ready but I am having trouble with instantVOB. The testing phase went alright, but I got an error message when i was burning it. I dont have the error message with me, but i ll try and get it. whats the latest version of instantVOB?

Iam trying to burn it with dvd decryptor after i made the image but i keep getting a aspi command error but my aspi checks out ok and is up to date. I ve waster 3 dvd-r already, why is this so hard. the movie is less than 4.3 gigs and nothing needs to be stripped or anything. thanks

Like I said in the other thread, you cant burn dvds (YET) with dvd decrypter. It works fine for CD's but I dont know the right commands, nor the order they are supposed to be sent to the drive in for dvd writers. I tried two different methods with a friend of mine but neither worked - in the end, I gave up. I need to have a dvd writer in my machine before I can do any more.
If anyone has one going spare...you know where I am ;)

Whats the error? I normally recommend VOBs because I'd heard from people that it worked.

What version of DVD DeCrypter are you using to do this with?
