Hello everybody! Sorry if my message doesn't suit this forum section, I haven't found a better place to post it. I'm studying video editing in college (I chose it as a minor, but it doens't matter here though), and I'm also new to this forum well. I have to write a coursework on the history of video production and I'm searching for the sources, including some guides on writing and editing. I hope there are many more experienced people who'll find something to share with me. :thanks:

Oh, I would like to have an opportunity to say that my dog ate my hw, but I don't. It won't save me.

Well, I didn't get any recommendation here, but managed to gather some information alone. I won't describe it all here, the source of information for my tyopic are highly-specialized and you'll hardly benefit from them. However, I also mentioned formatting and editing, so I have one useful source to share with users. My friend sent me the article on writing a resume for college internship because she plans to start an internship soon. I wasn't very interested in it, but decided to check what else this service offers, and it turned out that this company focuses on editing. It's exactly what I needed.

Spam.
Advertising for a commercial site which has nothing to do with video editing.

I'm sorry, but I posted the link just to share some information I found. I never planned to spam in this forum, and, as you probably know, spam comments look a bit different.

"guides on writing and editing"
I know directors and some of them are really polite. Sometimes they shout some references to actors that I fail to understand like "do this one like Orson Welles in... *scene of a movie*" and all I'm thinking (as an encoder/broadcast engineer) is "who the heck is Orson Welles?" But actors generally know and understand immediately. Directors have a vast knowledge of movies and cinematography, so much so that I often fail to understand their references like the other time when we were at lunch and they were talking about Jean Negulesco and I honestly had no idea who he was, so I just ate my main course, quietly listening to what they were saying.

As someone who works on the technical side, I can talk about... Well... Technical stuff eheheheh

I wanna tell you one thing, though, it's not that people ignored you, on the contrary, and you made the right choice by coming here as there are lots of experts, however Doom9 is the international encoding forum and as such there are few cameramen, some editors, thousands of encoders and... no directors, I'm afraid. :(
