need help with reverse telecine video clip

It has field blending. You can try:

would this be an optimal configuration? The rest of the clip is very, very good. It just in the beginning I'm getting dup. frames.

No. I think it came from a film source (and so 23.976fps is correct, not 25fps), but it seems to be some sort of a dream or fantasy sequence with added duplicate frames to slow down the movement. You should check a more 'normal' scene. videoh's script is correct as SRestore returns 23.976fps when the source is PAL 25fps.

I got the M2V, not the larger VOB.

I already mentioned the intended presence of the duplicate frames, even after the unblending.

The rest of the clips are @25fps.
If it's from a PAL DVD, it's all 25fps. It's just that the M2V I looked at had been field-blended from a film source to convert it to PAL's 25fps.
