Hi all, I ask here because it's one of the few places where I think people will understand what I'm asking about. :D
I am wondering: the existence of Reclock, smooth motion, custom resolutions... is due mainly to problems of sync between audio and video clocks in a PC, right? Let's set aside stuff like PAL speedup, it's of no particular interest to me. I am just interested in smooth reproduction, with no frames dropped or duped.
The question is: a player like Nvidia Shield does away with this or not?
Because, as far as I know, it doesn't allow for custom resolutions, it doesn't allow for Reclock (don't know if it supports the similar function in Kodi, maybe it does, but the point is understanding whether it's needed at all), it doesn't offer anything similar to madVR's SmoothMotion (assuming one is ok in using that).
Is there a consensus on this? Does Nvidia Shield use a single clock or not?
