A slightly different topic.
I want to buy camera for an older person. She doesn`t want a cell, i.e. Samsung Galaxy S20 that adjusts the light. He doesn't know much about lenses and light filters. It should have big zoom and be light.
You have any experiences. Something someone has bought new and is satisfied.

What do you need the camera for? To take photos or record videos?
Well, not to comment empty-handed...

OK. We have link to amazon and baby camera. The question of what to replace after ten years of progress in the Panasonic DMC-ZS7 photo camera technology. Is it possible?
Is the Sony a6000 camera good idea for simple shooting? Is it also relic?

Ah, consumer level camera that are easy to use?
Man, that's really NOT my field... :(
I personally have a Sony A7 III for personal use, but that's an overkill for anyone who is not passionate about encoding etc.
I guess over here we're all video lovers and many of us work in professional settings, so we're much more prone to treat ourselves with far better cameras than normal consumers would ever pick.
Well, I don't know what to suggest you in this case, I'm sorry... :(

This is probably a parat for professionals. I don`t know if the Samsung Galaxy S20 is equal but the optics should definitely be better.
I understand that there is nothing in between.

Today I was at Sony showroom. Why Sony? Because it has lot of advertising.
What have I found out. Cameras a6000 and more with a basic 16-50mm lens do not have zoom. I mean, they are studio up to 8m. Lots of people complain about old batteries.
You won't be able to take a photo with this camera in a church or mural across the street. To do this, change the lens.
What if something is fleeting. Then only heavy and bulky RX10 series cameras.
RX100 Pocket Cameras. Small, lens small, large zoom. Since the lens is small, electronics must retouch and pixels. Nobody knows what the quality of this electronics is and its effect on light. Especially on cloudy days. The quality of the visor and the tilting ability are price dependent
There is no middle ground between the RX100 and the a6100 when it comes to lens diagonal and sharpness. One standard.

Well, I have an a6000 and what you tell is, how to say it nicely?, ... not true.
It is an excellent camera which can also record (up to 30min in Europe for tax reasons). Can accept a variety of lenses (mainly E, but with cropping in mind also A, and not only from Sony but also from other good mfgs like Tamron or Sigma). If set to automatic, for older people that are not that experimented or plainly lazy, extremely good shots. A 24-200 lens, like the one from older NEX or 3rd like Tamron, is just enough for all cases. I have not tried but reports are it can use also older Minolta lenses (as Sony took over their business).
And it is old enough to be found at half prices. It doesn't have touchscreen (setting is a bit complicated, but as I say, leave it to automatic+), and the display does not move too much (unlike NEX predecessors). It's small and light (the lens, depending on zoom, represents at least 50% of the total weight). It may be somehow too small for people with large palms and thick fingers. But so is RX series, even smaller. Original batteries are expensive but very good. "Compatible" batteries are the ones that are complained about (yeah, many people got tricked in buying "original" Sony batteries which are fakes and have issues therewith - these are not Sony).
