View Full Version : MPC-BE and x265 i422 10bit

I've tried using madvr, LAV filters, and MPC Video Renderer to play 4:2:2 10bit x265 files MPC-BE without success.

Each time, MPC-BE x64 crashes reporting an instruction tried to reference memory at location 0.

My hunch is I've not properly configured one of the codecs.

Would someone who has such encoded files playing with MPC-BE tell me how to configure it so these files will play?

MPC-BE version ?
Opening with default settings, without any external filters ?
Upload short sample file.

It shows well for me, and nothing crashes.

MPC-BE x64 1.5.7.6178 beta

I've set it so ALL internal filters are enabled and no external filters are used.

Here's a clip I made with Hybrid encoder set for i422 x265 10bit. It plays in VLC x64 3.0.12. MPC-BE x64 1.5.7.6178 beta crashes.

I prefer to use MPC-BE as my player. The major issues I've had are long delays opening MP4 files (searching to data at end of MP4 file?), tearing, and I'm not sure if small details are as visible as they are with madVR...

@FredThompson
Try using fresh nightly builds. Now 1.5.8.6229 is available.

Do not post any files on this forum, no one can download them. Use file sharing or clouds.

I use https://yadi.sk/d/hlf1lfC8mKU58/!_last to get builds. It has 1.5.7.6178. Is there a better URL?

Yes, attachments can't be downloaded until they are approved. Is there no moderator for this section?

There are, but why would they take the risk to host a virus or illegal files ? Doom9 host a forum, they are not a files sharing service. So nothing wrong in not allowing your files. Tbh, they should disable it completly but maybe it is used in other subforums.

@pirlouy, Is that an attempt at a joke?

@v0lt, those builds also do not play the file.
I've put it here: http://corrugatedmachines.com/x265test.zip

I have no problem with this file.
Win8.1 x64, GTX 950, MPC-BE x64 1.5.8.6233, MPC VR 0.5.3.1708 or madVR 0.92.17, other filters are built-in.

madVR is too slow. I'm not sure why.

Enhanced Video Renderer works properly.

Is MPC Video Renderer LESS capable than Enhanced Video Renderer?

For me playback is good in EVR-CP/MPC VR.
