hi, i want to know how that option will affect my video files, in which cases should i use, & bla, bla, i would like more detailed info, because it is not a default option and in reference guides its says its better for quality image.... so...
help. thanx

Hello mato,

enabling the "Min. avg" setting in "Bitrate" tab forces CCE to not go below this value (1600 or your own setting) for the average bitrate over the whole encode.

This option might be useful with DVD standalones that play jerky if the bitrate is too low or perhaps if you want to make sure you get better quality when only doing a 1 or 2-pass VBR encode.

Downside is that this will confuse the proper bitrate calculation for the encode and you might get an additional CD image because you have forced CCE to use higher bitrates in some scenes where lower bitrates would have been sufficient.

But I don't see any advantage with it concerning visual quality when doing a 4-pass VBR with this setting enabled - just my opinion. ;)
