hi to all
i have this problem
i'm opening with nandub 1.0rc2 an avi file ( pseudo avi, made with DVD2AVI & VFAPI Reader )
select video-> sbc options -> no avi output
i put all the filters that i want( null transform, resize, subtitle )
and press 1st pass and give the name of the stats file and check 'add operation to job list'
then i put the audio of the movie ( mp3 format )
and press 2nd pass give the name of the avi file and again i check 'add operation to job list'
when i run 1job to create stats file
it creates a __temp.avi ( or something like that ) to nandub's directory with a huge filesize
and i want to ask if this is normal or i'm doing something wrong ???
cause i heard that there is no need for GB's when using 2 passes encoding
thanks in advance

If you want to do a first pass followed by a second pass, it's advisable to set all options and press shift-F8 rather than do the batch processing thing.
Even better would be to use Gordian Knot.

When I click No AVI OUtput and then i click first pass, It will go for about 7 minutes and then say that I can't put files over 4 GB on a FAT32 partition. Is there a way to make the file size smaller? I also want to know what filters and how to apply them to make a really good quality movie.

So read the SBC / Nandub guide on doom9s site and then, when you understood that, take a look at the Nandub Options Explained (link in my signature).

Koepi,
Since a few days I have the same problem as Clickit.
I already made a few rips with Gordian Knot and a few with nandub.
(still I consider myself as a new-B)
I read the guides on Doom9 a lot and searched NOE for anything related
to this problem. I couldn't find anything.
I only wanted to make a first pass, but Nandub just refuses to write
the stats file. It just creates one big __temp__.avi file.
Unlike Clickit and Cheerstunt83 I do not modify any options in Nandub for the first pass,
since I read the .avs file from gKnot. (so only cropping and resizing, no extra filters).
The SBC options only come into the picture when doing a second pass,
or did I get this wrong ?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Rafke P.

well I have a solution. After this problem has crept up and after much frustration, the solution was simple. I had just reformatted and I hadn't installed DivX yet! I don't know how old this post is, but that is the solution...install DivX, and make sure its not on direct stream copy!

Thank you very much Mr. Poop for your answer.
A couple of days ago I found the solution in some older threads
on this forum. I don't know how I missed it before, but I guess
everyone makes mistakes. (actually I keep on making them)
I uninstalled every divx codec and reinstalled the 3.11 alpha.
Now everything is working fine again. So there is no need for a total
format, but the 4.something is rather hard to uninstall.
Thanks again,
Rafke P.

If I were you I'd would just keep 3.11 Alpha installed, and also install DivX 5.0. DivX 4 is just a waste of time imo now that DivX 5 is out. It may be a little buggy...but c'mon its not that buggy
