View Full Version : A proper stream editing function for DGIndexNV?

Right now the program can only do trimming on the two ends of the stream, which is kind of pointless for such a feature. People who needed it would most likely want to do light editing like removing commercials.
So I'm requesting to have these functions (copy/cut/paste/delete) fully implemented.

After playing a bit with the trimming function, it seems that the current implementation is inconsistent. Setting both the same key frame as the end frame for one clip (clip A) and the start frame frame for another clip (clip B), when joining back together, there will be frames missing in between. It turned out that clip A didn't end on the key frame but on the frame before scene change, so any frames between the scene change frame and the key frame would be cut.

Sample here (http://www.mediafire.com/file/uaznvmfop00751u/test+trim.ts/file)
Split the clip into two with the program by trimming at the middle key frame where the guy is getting up from the futon. When joining the clips back together with avidemux or Virtualdub 2, 2 frames were lost at that key frame spot, you will notice a stutter in motion.
I encounter another bug with the trim where sometime saving a trimmed ts will just have the trimming progress bar hangs with no response. To reproduce it, load in a ts file -> click on somewhere in between the clip -> set an end point -> output trimmed ts.
Another problem is that the saved ts file will have no extension at the end.

lansing asked a question or two, uploaded a sample, and you're already here, responding to him.
Did you look at the sample, or are you only posting here to instruct others not to post here? :)

Support for DGDecNV is provided at the DG Tools forum. It's no different from developers that require issues to be registered at a bug tracker or github.
