Hi, I got no helping answere in the basic section thus I post my question here:
I try to encode real 480x575 SVCD with DVD2SVCD+CCE but anything I get is 352.

I tried/checked:
1)Avisync settings (480)
2)CCE log/settings (480),Half horizontal resolution not checked
3)reinstall CCE

Try open the AVS file in VirtualDUB and look in the FileInformation. What size does it say there, and see if you can see anything out of the ordinary.

This is what Virtual Dub say:

Frame size: 480x576, 25fps (40 000us)
# of frames: 113062
Decompressor: YUV 4:2:2 (YUY2)
# of key frames: 113062
Min/avg/max/total key frame size: 552960/552960/552960
Min/avg/max/total delta frame size: (no)

Looks good to me!

Please Help!!! Herrbert

How exactly is it you see this error, and where? Is it a CCE error message or?

And do me and all others a favor here. Stop using all those exclamation marks (!) and stop the "please help", people are infact helping each other on this forum.

The encoding works out without errors. When I watch the movie with PowerDVD and look at the movie-info it tells me the movie is 352x576.
Thus I "wasted" 128 dots every picture compared to SVCD standard.
Ciao, Herrbert

Oh, I see. Well, I think the problem is powerdvd then. Try windvd or a newer version of powerdvd. Or perhaps you have setup powerdvd to use letterbox or something like that.

Hi Herr Bert,

I can really say now that dvd2svcd's guess seems to be 100% correct. :) I just tried it myself with PowerDVD 4.0 XP and threw in my SVCDs. - Guess what? - Correct! - PowerDVD is always saying the source picture resolution is 352x576 pixels. But this is not correct! - It also says the sound is 44.1kHz though it is not!

So just forget the information tab of PowerDVD - the info is not correct! In fact earlier versions of PowerDVD couldn't play SVCDs at all and it seems the programmers are still no good friends of the SVCD format.

Greetings,
Gerti
