View Full Version : cce264 issue with Athlons?

Hi all,
after I set up the AVI, I click on "encode" and absolutely
nothing happens, except the button is greyed out.
The program is using no processor resources, and has not caused
windows to hang. But cce264 is "stuck"
I have to press cntl-alt-del to cancel it (winme).
There is a clue.
If I attempt to cancel it from the task list (winxp -dual boot),
it says that the program is wating for a response.
However, there are no outstanding messages on the screen.
I've tried the trials of 250 and 262 which work fine.
But 264 behaves this way.
It's an Athlon 1.2, kt133a chipset mobo. (IWILL kk266-r)
Known problem? Other gremlim?
Any info appreciated.
Dave

Same problem here, also Intel.
Even more strange: it worked about 3 weeks ago, but doesn't work anymore now.

Any hints would be great ...

Same picture here. it worked and then it stuck in transcoding position. I've tried
everything and nothing works. I think it's trial program.

Keep in touch guys if any solution will come up.

Yuri.

It's the 30 days time bomb. Re-set your clock to the time you installed it (within 30 days should be OK)

Is there any way to go around this problem without the clock or disable the bomb?

Any news on this problem ??

I recently found a new "patch" that seems to have solved
the problem.
I noticed with the earlier release (250 & 262) you didn't have to
install the product. Just expand the archive and run the executable.
With 264, I have to actually install it.
Now it works.

Dave

I must apologize to all,
not sure what happened, but mine is no longer working either now.
If I find out what's going on, I'll add new info.

running fine for about 3 weeks. now freezes on encoding screen (plugin + standalone)! any workaround besides reseting time?

I believe it is the time bomb, as mentioned earlier by Doom99.
Setting the computer clock back one month got it working again.
Just not a very friendly way of letting the user know!

Yeah besides very good encoding quality and speed, cce ist bulls*it. Its the only encoder that seems to be crashing when only moving your mouse. Plugin and Standalone have gfx problems with their own gui.no support, faq, clear version structure, etc.
but no complaining as long it produces my videos :-))
