Hi,
I use latest x264 binaries with these base settings ( preset = placebo ) for BluRay encodes.
me=umh / subme=11 / me_range=64 / rc-lookahead=250 / trellis=2 / decimate=0 / bframes=16 / rc=crf / mbtree=0 / crf=1XXX / qcomp=0.60 / aq=3:1.00
with tweaking of below settings.
qcomp, aq-mode (mostly 3), aq-strength (reduce it for Grainy sources), and psy-trellis , deblock (always use -3:-3 except for for anime etc.)
I'm planning to use me=tesa which I think will use lots of additional CPU cycles (w.r.t. http://akuvian.org/images/tesa2.png ) that I don't mind. Could anyone pls advise -
1) if it delivers same or better quality while providing better compression?
2) should I change any other settings if I switch from umh to tesa?
3) on a different topic, is it possible to pass the .avs script directly to x264.exe(tmod or any other build) without using something like avs2pipemod64 ?
