Is this video-denoising good?

Hi, I wonder if someone can recommend a higher quality way to denoise videos than this?
I'm using MDegrain2 from the MVTools2-package here),
super = MSuper(pel=4, sharp=2)
backward_vec2 = MAnalyse(super, isb = true, delta = 2, overlap=4)
backward_vec1 = MAnalyse(super, isb = true, delta = 1, overlap=4)
forward_vec1 = MAnalyse(super, isb = false, delta = 1, overlap=4)
forward_vec2 = MAnalyse(super, isb = false, delta = 2, overlap=4)
MDegrain2(super, backward_vec1,forward_vec1,backward_vec2,forward_vec2,thSAD=140)
I tried TemporalDegrain2, but it degrains a bit too much details for my taste.

Interlaced or progressive source? VHS or digital compressed? What kind of 'noise'?.
Denoising is very much source dependent - and as you write '.... for my taste'.
There is simply no 'best denoiser' which fits all.

Progressive source-video. My main problem with this film (Blu-ray source) is that the sky is filled with dirt: dots all over the sky, which is probably dirt from the silver-plating on old film (this is an an old Japanese film).
By "My taste", I meant that I want to keep as much real details but remove all noise that are not details ("Film has an expiration date and is prone to dirt, mildew and moisture which can ruin its quality").
Should I rather use MDegrain6?

Keeping details but removing all noise which are not details is a conflicting requirement.
You will probably get more help when you upload a sample of the source.
But at the end you have to try and let your eyes decide, especially with denoising.

It's always better to have a video clip rather than just a static picture of a single frame, if someone wants to try and suggest a filter.
I wouldn't even filter your sample, unless the purpose is for better compressability. But that's just me of course.

You could perhaps give SpotLess() a try. Adjust RadT for noise spot frame count duration (if spots on eg 2 consecutive frames, set RadT=2).
Also, McDegrain() does same [EDIT: Except pel=2, sharp=1] as your original script, but with 'frames' arg adjusting temporal radius (yours is fixed at radius 2, maybe you want to try frames=1).

Or as for your script equiv frames=1 [although I think maybe your thSAD=140 is too low, think default about 400]

EDIT: I doubt that you need pel=4, suggest 2 or maybe even 1, also maybe bigger blksize and overlap, default is 8.

thSAD=400 makes MDegrain1 degrain a bit too much in my opinion, almost as much as TemporalDegrain2(grainLevel=false), but maybe you mean that frames=1 fixes that?

Use your favorite file sharing site. I've used Amazon Photos, from which I can get a direct URL to a video file. Although I've not tried in a bit, since it was rebranded from Amazon Drive.

Above, BenWaggoner already made suggestion, MediaFire is used by many on-site (req account, easy to set up).
Postimage.org is good for images only, does not need account but posts only valid for 30 days after most recent download,
then are deleted.

This is because ZippyShare geoblocks some European countries. Easy to circumvent using either a VPN (Opera has a built-in VPN), or access their site through a free WebProxy like proxysite.com (use a US server).

Other free hosts for uploading without opening an account are SendSpace (can be rather slow sometimes) and WeTransfer. They all delete the uploads after either a fixed time period or 2 weeks after the last download. This is mostly exactly what I like.

For a permanent hosting service I really like VideoHelp. You need to register, and the upload space is limited, but they allow direct links for the uploaded files, and they are very reliable. And (as opposed to many other file hosters) I do trust them to not do bad things with my personal data.

Note on SendSpace.
SendSpace (without account), sometimes adds [tacks on to end of URL] another URL link to some advert.
The advert itself does not appear, only a text link sticks out of right hand side bottom of your image,
click on it and you will go to the ad site.
The sneaky ad URL, will be double length, so if long URL, look for 2nd URL on line and delete it before embed in forum post.
The ads are not a great big deal, somebody will probably point out the link if you miss it yourself, and easily edited out.

Thanks, I noticed that Zippyshare isn't really good lately (too many ads there!). I'll probably use https://files.fm/, or some of your recommended ones (one that don't geoblocks important countries).
