I'm working with a grainy source, but I'd like of for the grain to be preserved. The source is telecined and has gateweave, so after the IVTC, some "straight" lines and edges tend to morph a bit.
When applying temporal DNR, that actually helps smoother out the edges, but that of course means I'm losing the source grain. This leads me to suspect there exists a temporal edge smoother meant to preserve detail like grain.
I've tried using MCTemporalDenoisePP(AA=true) but that had no affect, and that's the closest I've found to the existence of a temporal edge smoother (which I would assume that function is actually not lol).
Tl;dr Does there exist a temporal edge smoother filter that won't remove grain/detail?
