Rewrite LimitedSharpenFaster to be used with 16-bit video?

LimitedSharpenFaster works fine with the latest versions of masktools and RGtools. Both filter groups support 16-bit sources.

So I was wondering if it is possible to rewrite LimitedSharpenFaster script to work in 16-bit?

Unfortunately my knowledge about digital video and Avisinth programming is clearly insufficient to perform such a task (IF this is even possible at all). :(
