Help in deinterlacing this strange source

Here's a 29.97fps interlaced m2v snippet from a DVD which I'd like to bring down to a clean progressive video (to encode with x264) but I can't. (Note: it's a bit NSFW, a b&w kinky scene, nothing too shocking though, no full nudity).

If I QTGMC it, I see some blended frames, but also some sequences of four frames in a row which are repeated, as well as some short sequences of frames where all frames are unique.

I've tried several things, none of which really convince me. If I run DeDup with a threshold of 1.0, I get a video which seems decent but playing too fast; if I use the timecodes with mkvtoolnix to create a VFR file, it's not that great. It flows similarly as if I had just used QTGMC and left it at 59.94fps, IMO.

Any ideas on what's the best thing to do here? For the moment I'm leaning towards a simple QTGMC(), but I'm hoping there's something better to do.

The fields come from blended frames. The tool for dealing with this is Srestore. Manolito has a package that includes all dependencies and works on older versions of Windows.

I tried srestore. It doesn't do a good job in this case. I tried srestore() and also srestore(29.97) actually. Neither of them is adequate (especially the 25fps one looks bad). I don't know what the film was shot with so I don't know what's the original framerate.

Bob it with QTGMC or your favorite bobber, followed by SRestore(Frate=19.98).

Still duplicate frames, still blended frames, but a helluva lot better.
