Quants less than 2 used?

In your Xvid Explained doc you mentioned that the quantizer is set to 2 on the first pass? So that means setting the min and/or max iframe quant (or normal quant for that matter) to less than 2 (ie 1) on the second pass would be useless?

I did a couple of encodings with Xvid and it uses quant=1, not alot, but depends the size/compressibility of the movie.
Quant=1 won't be useless if you have space to spare.
Also another use of it is for capture. If you set it to quant 1-1 it would ideal for capture (almost lossless)

So setting iframes to 1-3 is kinda overkill then for a 2CD rip?

Maybe I should use 2-4?

A minimum quantizer of '2' is always a good idea.
