? What do you want?
"Just" resize the AVI's to a low res? Resize AND convert them to MPEG 1?
TMPGEnc is a very good program. Why do you want to use another?
If you want to do AVI -> AVI, you could use VirtualDub.
If you resize you WILL loose quality!

i don't want them to be mpeg1, i want divx since that's what the dreamcast plays. it's just the resolution can't be bigger than 496x496. don't know why. and all my divx's are 640x480. i don't know how to use virtual dub. can anyone explain??

How about reading Doom9's guides? How about reading the forum rules?

I wonder how you can get over 80 posts and don't know that you should first read THEN post.
