???Best optimal config-setup of computer

Hi all,
I would like to hear your thoughts on best config and setup of PC for AV and ripping.

I've got dual amd xp 1700 on asus new mobo and 512mb ECC registered PC2100 ram. I have promise raid with 2x60gig HDs and 1x8gig-System w/win2k on it, 1x40gig-Temp HD.

Swap is on dedicated partition from 40gig drive. I rip to either 40gig or Raid drives.

What would you suggest to get best perfomance from my PC in terms of tuning and configuring it. I have dvstorm capture and edit card which I use to process all of my VHS and Hi8 stuff. A little box from frys ($50) helps with macrovision issue.

Well, from where I'm sitting behind my single-cpu Thunderbird 800...I really don't have too much to say.

You really have a great system there for encoding, period. I'm sure you get framerate's that would make me cry.

One thing, the new Divx 5.0 is supposed to have code to encode optimized with 2 cpus....other than that I don't have any suggestions.
