View Full Version : DVD2AVI ingoring encoding bitrates?

Hey,

It seems as though my system has started ignoring what bitrates I tell it to
encode Divx at. No matter what I set the configuration to, it seems to
encode at around 2500 Kbps. I have tried encoding different videos, and
they all do this. It just started doing this. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the codec, to no avail. Although it seems the uninstaller
doesn't
really uninstall the codec. I'm using DVD2AVi and Divx 4.12 to encode TV captured to MPEG2 from an ATI AIW.
Has anyone else had this problem. Can someone
please help me, this is driving me nuts.

Thanks,
gricholson

Well, I get often videos that are too small, but only a few KBit/s.
I think its the fault of the codec, but always getting 2500 KBit/s sounds really weird. Maybe you have changed the settings.
Are you sure you have a maximum quantizer bigger than 4 (I think 10 should be OK)?
Do you have this problem with other encoders, too?
