Sorry if this is a newb question that's been answered 1000 times before!!! lol. I've looked at the various guides here and at riphelp.com and I thought I knew what I was doing. lol. I also apologize if this question is in the wrong forum.

Here's the scenario:
I want to rip just the main movie files and the English AC3 (6CH) audio stream. I fire up DVD Decryptor, right-click on one of the selected main movie vob's and select the appropriate option to strip. After it's done analyzing, I select the top 2 choices and uncheck the rest. Decryptor does it's thing and creates the ifo and vob's. Then I use ifoEdit to process ifo's (as explained in various guides I thought). I fire up PowerDVD, ctrl O and play the movie...it works fine. Then I burn it to DVD-RW with Prassi. Still works great on computer but when I put it in stand-alone player it skips thru the sections with a few seconds of play then ends the movie. lol.

I guess my questions are:
Did I strip it properly? (I didn't think even I could screw THAT up - lol)

What steps/processing with ifoEdit really ARE necessary after that?

Thank you very much in advance for any help and for excusing my newb-ness!!! lol

Well it sounds like you've done the 'decrypting' bit ok....seeing as thats where my job (read knowledge ;)) ends, I'll have to pass you over to someone else. Sorry.

Thanks for the help. Sorry to put you to any trouble. BTW, I think Decryptor is excellent!

In no way am I being critical of anyone who takes the effort to write programs and guides for goobs like me, but I guess my problem with the guides I have found and read are twofold (and I know I probably haven't stumbled across the one I need yet):

1. I haven't really run across one for just doing what I'm trying to do, which is:
a: take only the main movie & strip out all unneeded/unwanted audio and subtitle streams
b: correct and/or create ifo's and then blast it onto a DVD.

2. Many of the screenshots included in guides (sections about ifoEdit for example)are from 2 or 3 version back and don't show some options or have options that don't exist anymore, or been renamed options. And I'm still new enuf at this to not understand what I need to do in these case. lol.

Thanks again!

I suggest you rip the whole DVD with DVDDecrypter, then strip in ifo-edit.. as in my guides

Cant you remap it?

ifo edit will take care of that.. not sure if it remaps it to 80.. but it will work either way.. you don't have to worry about stream mappings when you let ifoedit do the stripping.

You may need SmartRipper in certain cases; for example, if you need to strip cells from vobs. I do not see this feature in Dvddecryptor or ifoedit.
