I've been trying for the past few days to copy Star Wars Episode 1. All I want is the main menu, the chapter list, and the movie itself. However the menu has a 'feature' that I havent seen discussed anywhere.

Every time the original disc starts up in a stand alone DVD player, one of 4 english menus will randomly come up. I would like to rip out 3 of the random menus and keep only one...so how would I force the movie to play only one of the menus after the others are stripped out?

Actually, if anyone has been able to do this movie, please let me know how you pulled it off. From what I seen, it has a very unusual structure. Also, I can't seem to get ReMPEG2 to compress the film without making parts of the movie 'blocky and jumpy'. It seems to be totally random, some parts of the movie will be fine, while other parts will go to shit. The shittiness will start and stop right in the middle of a cell too!

i got the chumpy video with remepg too.

I had the same problem when I used ReMpeg but when I burned to a "Pioneer" DVD-R or DVD-RW branded media I had no problems. But every time I used any other media, be it DVD-R or DVD-RW I would get choppy screens, digital noise, frames blending in and sometimes it would just freeze.

Actually, I was just previewing the video in PowerDVD, never actually burned it :)

But forget about ReMPEG for now (Trying to use CCE instead).

I mainly want to know how to handle the menus. If I just strip out all the extra menus, and only leave one of them in there, what do I need to change to get rid of the "random menu display" feature so it will always go to the menu that I kept instead of attempting to load one of the menus that I ripped out???

Any ideas?

Heh, I guess if I get CCE working with IFOedit, I could just keep the entire 900MB menu VOB in its unadulterated state, then just compress the hell out of the movie itself :eek:

But I'd like to avoid that if possible...
