Is there any way to encode a 4 Channel stream in a low size?
I have a Sb-Live Player and i would like to use all 4 channels.
Please write me in an easy way because i'm a newbie and my english isn't very well.
Thanks a lot

Hi :),
MP3 is not capable of that, but check out the ogg-encoding section of doom9 - im not completely sure that its possible right now, but in the near future it should be capable of multi-channel encoding. Sorry i can't say for sure but i haven't been keeping up with how the development is going recently...but search doom9 and the forums and you should find what ur looking for.

Mp3 IS able to handle up to 5.1 channels.
The problem is that there is no implementation publically available yet.

Once we have channel coupling feature for Vorbis when doing AC3 5.1 to Vorbis transcoding in HeadAC3he there will be no need for MP3 multichannel anyway .... Tobias promised to modify his DirectShowFilter soon to allow mc playback also ...

Yeah, ok, if ur going to split hairs ;) ... but being practical ...
to ChristianHJW - haven't used ogg yet for my dvd's bar once ( it's still a little early in development for me yet :) ) but i am looking forward to the day when i will and finally get mc with nice ( small ) filesizes :). I'd like to give you and the rest of the team involved a massive thanks for your efforts. Thanks! Ogg audio is the future for dvd -> cd backups as far as im concerned.

But the main tribute goes to Monty and the Vorbis dv team for developing this excellent audio codec .... and of course to DarkAvenger, Tobias, Tronic, ingoralfblum, roBux4, Nic and hopefully many other coders who will realize the project for us. Another big thanks goes to our excellent betatesters and mods like MaTTer, S_O, Neo Neko, Acaila and everwicked for testing the stuff for us.
