No sound after creating IFO´s

Hi, I have ripped Gladiator and re-mpeg it.
Because the film is very long I decided to let Ifo-Edit create my IFO´s.
My problem now is that after creating the ifo´s -> copying a "fake" video_ts.vob into the same folder -> and finally pressing the "get vts-Sectors button in ifoedit, that the dts-audio-language is not avaiable.
How can I manually tell my VOB´s with Ifoedit that they should play the sound ?

don't mean to insult, but:

rempeg2 only creates a rempeg'ed VIDEO file.
perhaps you saved the rempeg2 file as a .vob instead of a .m2v. if you tried to play this vob, then you will have no sound. you must remux this .m2v video file back into the original vob files (that contain the sound) with ifoedit. this will create new vob files and new ifo files. then get vts sectors.

don't know why you would have ifoedit make the ifo's just b/c the movie is too long. that doesn't make sense.

don't think you can "manually" tell vob's to play sound. perhaps the sound's not in there to begin with.

the film is complete (remuxed and everything).
So I have 6 VOB´s that are nearly 4,3gb big.
The thing is that I have in the film the re-muxed video + dts - stream.
After all I advice Ifoedit to make new IFO´s from the complete finished vobs. Everything ok, it makes BUT after all, when I insert the disk in the player my dts-sound is gone...

maybe the DTS audio track was mapped to 0x81. if so, the DTS audio track needs to be mapped to 0x80. i'm pretty sure that your main audio track needs to be mapped to this setting.

try this:
open the original movie disc in smartripper
choose movie mode
select the streams tab
you should have listed in the box:
-1-video
-2-audio1-0x80
-3-audio2-0x81
etc.

remember, only the 0x80 track will be played. maybe your DTS audio is in 0x81. you need to determine this yourself...each disc is different. if this is true, uncheck the 0x80 audio track, check the 0x81 audio track. then, to the right of that, there is another box. select "map to", and then select the x80 option. this will remap the 0x81 to 0x80.

then do everything else that you did.

have you tried it to play per software dvd player (Power DVD) ?
Very strange thing! The strangest things happen these times like this eating Vob Media Player i have mailed you ;-)!

same for me.
no audio on my stand alone player.
but it does play fine on powerdvd.

i rip dvd with smartripper (movie mode).
i correct ifo with ifoedit.
(options are :correct vob units,correct ifo tables,create new ifo's,remove p-uops) , then vts_sectors.
i burn with recordnow max.

here is what says ifoedit :
VTS overview:
Video: MPEG-2 720x576 (PAL) (PAL 625/50) (16:9) (letterboxed)
Audio 1: Français (Dolby AC-3 6ch 48Kbps DRC (dynamic range control) ) (ID: 0x80).

any thing wrong i would do in ifoedit?

have you made a image with the imagetool BEFORE burning ?!?!

nop, i used : add files -> \video_ts.

you think that by making an image file, i could avoid losing my audio track ?

no, I don´t think so...
but if you have problems with your standalone player (like me) this tool will be very useful.
