Hello,
First I have to say that I've read ALL messages about dvd maestro.
I noticed that to have it work properly I have to install
the dvd cinemaster 2000 player.
That's what I did.
So, the message that was poping when I was launching maestro
dissapeared.
But, I still have a "Media detecting error".
Thanks by advance for those who will answer to my question.
Bye .

Uh, media detection error usually means that you tried to load in a file type that isn't supported or is corrupted......... I don't think it has anything to do with the preview......

The fact is that no video works.

Can you play DVD with Cinemaster 2000? Or it was a dll only installation?
Sometimes I have to start Cinemaster befor Maestro to get preview.

I made a full install of cinemaster
but I wonder if the version is the full one or a trial.
I was told that the elsa version wasn't the good one.
If anyone could tell me...
bye

I'm using the Elsa version with just installing the dll's. In the setup it asks if you want the player or just the decoder files. I select just the decoder files.

it's ok if you don't have any other DVD-player installed. Try to istall the player as well. Was it a ~ 24Mb installation file?
RobinMasters
20th February 2002, 16:15
Yes,
cineaster is near 24mb

Please,
can someone who has a working dvd maestro explain me
what must be installed or not?
Jestorius

24Mb file is a good one.
I have a few DVD-players in the Pc and have installed the hole Cinamaster 2000 (1.0) not only the dll part. It works well.
If you unistalled some other DVD player, maybe have you lost system files necesseary to mpeg decoding. Try to install again all programs which has anything to do with mpeg decoding . Start with Mediaplayer. Last ned the last one from MS.
Test Cinamaster if it can play mpeg, start it before you start Maestro.

Just for the records. I have an Elsa card and the Cinemaster is a Elsa Cinemaster player. It works well with Maestro.

Cinemaster plays all kinds of videos.
But not spruce dvd maestro.
My layout is :
ati aiw 128
athlon 1500xp
msi kt7 266a
256ddr ram
win 2000
all needed codecs.
I can't find why it doesn't work.
Jestorius
20th February 2002, 18:33
It is a Elsa CinePlay 1.0 (I'm not using the card anymore, only the software)
Cineplay.exe 1.0.02.0107
Cmpnl10.dll 1.0.02.0042
2915a -Maestro
Win2000pro

As I can see You have a Ati, do you have Ati DVD player installed? As I know the Ati DVD Palyer is build on the Cinemaster technologi and it isn't compatible with Maestro.

Thanx for all your answers.
I have an ati but I never install the ati dvd player!
so, it's not the cause of my problems.
I have already checked the Ravisent Cinemaster Hardware box.
It's all the same.
It doesn't work.
Jestorius, for the thing I promised you.
I'll send you a pv soon.
Bye.

"But, I still have a "Media detecting error". " Where and when do you get this messege?
"So, the message that was poping when I was launching maestro
dissapeared." - It means that Cinemaster is working.
Isn't your asset (mpeg, audio) corrupt? Is it a 2914c or 2915a?
The "RealView" is activ only if you are in Movie and playing the timeline. Otherwise Alt+S to use the Navigation Simulator. What heppends if you try to use one of those?

The "Media detection error" or "Media not supported error"
messages pop when I right-click on the window at the bottom right and I do "Import media asset".
I managed to import jpg files, but not video files.
I have several versions of maestro and they all don't work.
I already tested the versions you are talking about.

Ok, is your asset a separert video and audio file?.
RobinMasters
21st February 2002, 10:53
The file I'm trying to play is whether a divx basic file or an m2v file, or any other file (I have plenty of kinds of video files).
They all are single files containing audio and video, not separated.
ps : I've just sent you a pv.

That's the problem. It has to be a video alone and audio alone file. After you imported all the assets you open Movie, drag the video over to the video line and the audio over to the first audio line.
You have to demux all the mpeg with ???? Tmpgenc.

it was that!!!
Incredible that noone told me that before!
I'll try this evening (its 11h35) in france.

Wish I'd been on the forum yesterday - yeah, this is a demux issue - Maestro will only accept elementary streams.
However, older versions of Maestro have also been known to give this error when running under Win2k without the use of ApCompat. Versions 2.9 upwards have native Win2k compatibility, though.

Version 2.9 works like a dream under Win2k

I have installed Maestro 2.9 on one of my pc's (fresh install of Winxp) and after installing elsa 2000 player and the cine2037_6359_nt drivers it worked a treat, however when I did the same on my other pc (fresh winxp install again) it refuses to play any media nd crashes and in the error message it refers to cinmst32.dll
Any one have any ideas why as I followed the exact same procedure as I did with the pc it is working on.
Any help appreciated
Cheers

@ Zed:
Well, the most obvious question (to which I do not know the answer), is: "does Cinemaster WORK under WinXP??". After all, the Cinemaster engine is hardly cutting-edge technology, and XP hasn't been around for very long at all.

In the movie stream there is a box just to the left of the audio track. Click it and it turns red. Audio is now on.
