video compression

Hello community my goal is to reduce the weight of the video of a bd50, this is achieved through the extraction of tracks and working the video track individually, I would like to know which is the fastest compression method and with less loss of quality than can suggest, the purpose is to be able to visualize the movies on a 4k 65 '' TV. If I do not compress the videos, they weigh more than 20gb, so the hard drive would fill up very quickly. Which method is more effective for the editing and elimination of black bands. thanks

That would require finding the disc and putting it in the drive... and then its starts and seeks pretty slowly. The entire experiance is much better with files on a NAS or similar. Personally I copy all my bluray discs to a network drive as soon as I get them.

For reencoding the fastest good option would be a 1660 or better Turing GPU, the new NVENC engine that is pretty good quality and very fast. Other than that x264, tune film with preset slow to veryslow, depending on how fast you want, and crf 16 to 21, depending on desired quality. Slower is better quality per size and larger crf is lower quality and size.
