I am curious how to change or normalize the audio on a divx movie. I went throught the divx4 xmpeg guide and the audio levels came out low and I was wondering if I could change the levels without having to redo the whole movie again.

i assume u are using xmpeg 4.2a..
go into audio player and check dynamic range compression.. and depending on past conversions you have done.. increase the bar towardsthe left (for some reason its opposite.. left is greater) and i would say put it close to half way.. that should fix ur audio problems..

I want to do it after I've encoded it. So I dont have to spend all that time again encoding it all.

use virtual dub
-load the avi
-check video/direct stream copy
-audio /full processing
-go in volume, and set over 100%
(remember that the volume u hear is equal to the square root of the gain. so if set there 150%, you should hear audio 23% louder)
-in interleving put every 500ms
-in compression choose same compressor as audio source
-if you like to change settings in compression, remember that u have to put same changes in conversion too
