Maybe. But these are the defaults: don't use enhancements, have the correct driver, etc.

VLC is a good player and mp3 is a well know format.
All mp3's sound bad or only someone? Upload a sample.

You've got 2 solutions.

1 - Disable and then re-enable your audio playback device. It's a temporary fix but it will keep persisting every time you restart your device.
