Hey all, I'm new to this forum and I already have my first question. I have a divx of lord of the rings that runs at 23.98 frames per second and I want to make it standard NTSC compliant so that I can make a VCD to watch on my DVD player (in other words, I want to convert to 29.97 frames/second). I used avifrate to convert the video and that's no problem but the audio stays at 23.98 frames/sec and is way out of synch after I convert the video. My question is: is there any way to convert the audio to match my new video frame rate? The only thing that I saw that got close to doing this was besweet GUI but that can only convert to PAL at 25 frames/sec (not what I need ). If anybody knows the answer to this question I would relly appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

23.976fps is already NTSC VCD compliant. There's no need for conversion.

remember, one thing is change the frame rate(different time)
another convert it (same time)

The easiest solution would have been to download the SVCD rip of LOTR which was out even before the divx version and is much better quality than a divx->VCD conversion.

But since we're not talking about pirated movies here the answer to your question was already given by zambelli: you don't need to do a framerate conversion! and even if you would, just speeding up the movie to 29.97 frames/second is definitely not the way to do it.

Just had a nice thought: Your Hobbits will be running away from the Orcs much faster now ...LOL :D
