I downloaded Oceans Eleven DIVX rip of the screener DVD which contains an AC3 track

its supposed to be full 5.1 channel AC3 but I only see details for 2 channel playback via windvd (it plays 2 channel aswell in both windvd and mplayer2 I cant hear rear speakers or LFE)

Im using the latest 3.1.91 codec from Intervideo
and my configuration is fine (I tested 5.1 already via that ac3test.vob file)

so has the release group used another method requireing different codec for full 5.1 channels?
if so how can i found out the best way to playback
tia for any help

btw I am using sb audigy in xp which has its own AC3 software decoder (it converts SPDIF to 2, 4, 5.1 or 6 channel sound)

The Audigy is taking a pure AC3 stream and converting it? OMG! What will they think of next. Are you sure it's not a straight pass through.

So why are you using WinDVD to play Divx flicks? How about you try PowerDivx, ZoomPlayer or BSPlayer and then report back? Make sure your using WaveOut and not DirectSound.

EDIT- Sorry I miss understood you about the Audigy. What you mean is the Audigy can "downmix" 5.1 to stereo.
