Unusual audio damage - every 3rd sample

Yes thanx G2K4, me is heading (gradually) in that direction. Still gotta figure out how best to arrange my plug directories so as to reduce folder number
using same plugins for Avs+ + Neo, partly for v2.60 std, and I'm problably not so very far away from abandoning v2.58 altogether, maybe I wait till then.

EDIT: Maybe bout time we had another Avsisynth version usage poll to see how the land lies, somebody wanna take that on ? [I did it last time]

How so? You can load the audio in Audacity, run a FFT and display the frequency spectrum. That should make it easy to identify the spurious signal. Then apply a notch filter. This was already suggested to you in the Audacity forum.

Working on this problem in the time domain seems rather error prone, not to mention that there is no software or Avisynth plugin (of which I am aware) that can do this.
Wonkey_monkey, Thank you for your noble attempt to write a plugin for me. But the effort has to fail as the "every 3rd sample" pattern is disrupted every few seconds. The only workable solution is to get as handy as possible with the notching process in Audacity. (Also by preventing the problem by rebooting my DVR more frequently.) I AM getting handier at it. Split channels, select a channel, notch with Q=50 and freq=16000 hz. Do other channel. One of them generally requires "remove DC offset", which I do via the Normalize effect but uncheck normalize. (Nice they have separate switches.)

For most of what I do, this will work, though taking lots of compute time. I didn't want to do this for better quality video and audio stuff like movies (with great music tracks), but (1) there's really no choice and (2) my decades old ears probably can't hear 16k anyway, ha ha!

We went on several tangents, which I hope will be helpful to some, even though my original goal of a plugin has failed. Thanks to all for your contributions. (And you're wondering why this bump now, I've been hit by the 16k spike a couple times in the last 2 weeks, ha ha! But I did want to come back eventually and THANK you all, especially Wonkey_monkey.)
