He's a bit someone I look up upon, even though I switched to x265 now (some of his code might have followed to x265?).

He probably prefers to have his privacy preserved. If so, I think this should be respected.

So I urge everybody to not post any pictures of x264 developers (or other related people) here without the person's concent! Links to public web-sites are okay, of course.

(I think the photo of the DivX guys should be okay, because AFAIK they posted it publicly before)

@LoRd_MuldeR. Yeah, I absolutely agree with that he should have his privacy preserved if he don't want any photos of him shown here. And I think this should be respected too.

You're first post in this thread, was some off-topic nonsense, directly attacking others. Then you continue on by defending the gender choice of some other person, against someone who incorrectly defined the current sexual preference of a person, when that very same person is being discussed about in a past tense, when that person was the gender that was described.

I don't think I'll ever get to see a picture of Loren 'Pengvado' Merritt or Didée, since none have been active here for a long time.

I really feel for DS.

The emotional pain and turmoil that he must have been carrying around for such a long time.

I am not talking about the headbutting that occurred within this community, however many years ago that was. That pales in comparison to how he must have felt, living in today's society with the medical condition that he did (or still does, I don't know). Unlike some other people with a similar condition, who I guess on some emotional level, receive some form assistance through privacy, DS was public.

The courage to actually acknowledge the condition in public, is nothing short of remarkable. Now, today, as a community, we show respect for that courage, by allowing our own emotions regarding the past to drive discussion. It is not our issue to discuss. We should always respect the privacy of the actual people concerned. If we allow ourselves to become overly emotional, we show a complete lack of respect for those involved, in introducing others to emotional pain from years past.

There are people reading this, who previously had no knowledge. And instead of DS being given the respect to share this information with whoever DS feels is worthy of that knowledge (by virtue of the respect of privacy from this community), we now have a bunch of people who might be going, "omg, DS is........."! And while the issue is public, it's prevalence is directly controlled by those who persist in keeping it public.

That is on you Midzuki, and your inability to control emotion.


Whatever happened between neuron2 and other parties has long been dealt with (by the parties involved). There is no denying that neuron2 is human, and thus, fallible. This community has acknowledged the grievances, and applied the appropriate resolution. Leave it alone.

If you really want to help others, you first need to acknowledge your own actions.
