View Full Version : What program would be the best to do this??

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but here it goes.

I have a few music videos I downloaded that are in VOB format. I know they contain more than 1 audio track, because when I demux the audio with DVD2AVI, I get a 2.0 and a 5.1 soundtrack. The problem is when I play the files with PowerDVD, it only sees the 2.0 track, and doesn't give the option to switch to the other one.

What would be the best way to get the 5.1 track to play? I was thinking about demuxing the video and audio tracks, then creating a new VOB with only the 5.1 track... What program can I use to do this? (or is there a simpler way of getting the 5.1 tracks to play?)

Thanks.

that is because you are playing the vob file only in powerdvd. it needs a ifo to recognize the audios.

try this, i don't know if it will work. go into ifoedit and click create ifo. pick the vob file.
ifoedit will create some ifo files for u. then open the ifo file in powerdvd.

maybe then u can switch audio

Thanks, but it doesn't even create an IFO for some reason... :(

Anyways, I don't care about the 2.0 track, all I want is the 5.1 track. I demuxed the m2v with TMPG, and the ac3 with DVD2AVI, now all I need is something to mux them back together. (TMPG can do it, but it doesn't handle delays)

What program can I use to mux an m2v and an ac3 file together, that will let me set a delay for the audio track?

if u just want one audio file, why not use vobrator. i think u can delete unwanted audio tracks and make another as the default.

i'm not sure. someone back me up.

I found a way to switch their positions. Here's what I did:

-extract the 2 AC3 tracks with DVD2AVI
-fix the delay for each using a program called "AC3 delay corrector"
-extract the M2V with TMPGEnc
-Remux the M2V and 2 AC3 tracks with TMPGEnc (putting the 5.1 track first, and the 2.0 track second) This way, the 5.1 track plays by default...
