i just ripped planet of the apes with smartripper (just the movie) and i now have a *.m2v file and a *.ac3 file on my hd,
now this may sound stupid but what do i do with those 2 files ?
i loaded m2v into spruceup but i had no sound but the pic was perfect no annoying little screens with commentry popping up.

someone please tell me as i am just getting to grips with this dvd stuff

The ac3 file is your audio file. Make sure the name of the files are the same for both like "apes.m2v & apes.ac3" and you should be able to load them up into SpruceUp with no probs.

i loaded the m2v file into spruceup but i got no sound the files are named the same,so do i load the m2v file then load the ac3 file or should it load the ac3 file automatically

Before you do anything, first load the *.ac3 file into a DVD player software and make sure you got sound. Then load the files into SpruceUp. I dont use SpruceUp so I dont know if it will catch the audio file automatically but you should be able to load them both into the same timeline.
