South Park re-release... does it fix dot crawl?

Starting in around 2010 or 2011, a change occurred in the packaging for South Park DVDs. On the left is the original design. On the right is the 2010 or 2011 re-release:

Does anyone know if the discs inside are any different? Specifically, have the episodes been remastered to fix the godawful checkerboard-ghosting?

Not sure about DVD releases, but the BluRay releases are great :)
