I am completely broke, can someone suggest the best AVI->MPEG2 encoder??
I have adobe prem 5.0 if that helps...

TMPGEnc would be the way to go if you don't have CCE. The quality is good but the only problem is the speed. VERY slow.

I though it was only valid with MPEG2 for 30 days???

If you dig around on the net, you can find version beta12, and this creates very nice quality MPEG2, and does not have the 30day time restriction.

Or pay $48 for the non-expiring commercial version of TMPGEnc. It's worth it.
