Budget gpu for madVR? please help a novice!

Hi, im a total noob with madVR, i have used it in the past with a GTX750 ti, but that was like 4 years ago, so i have forgot many of the things lol.

Anyway, this is my usage, i got S8 + and i record videos on the go with it, we are hiking, and im recording the videos in 4K, this is the bitrate if needed for a reference...

I got 1080p monitor, but the videos i shot in 4K, the info about the quality is above, i want to make this videos look best possible on a budget of course, i got budget of around 100 usd for used or new card, please recommend the best solution for my usage scenario, would upsampling or whatever worst best? would madVR make this videos look better, and if yes by how much? please give me a reference, if now i got 5/10 what would madVR look like? thanks!

I also got SSD 120GB, 8GB DDR3 RAM and i5 2400.


Is the gtx950 best option or something like RX460, GTX750 ti, or even 1030 (not sure about the price tbh) would vram make difference for my usage, should i aim for 2/4gb cards? thanks!

I got an offer for 90$ GTX750 ti 4gb should i go for it or 2gb GTX950?

Have you think that instead of changing the card to change the monitor, sometimes the monitor do more to the image quality that a graphic card for video and still images specially is is conected using displayport, hdmi or even dvi-d. I have sen it clearly comparing the same video trought my old CRT, a 10 years old lcd, a IPS-LCD with less than a year, a DLP projector and a new 4K oled tv. Also a good gaming monitor is not he same as a good monitor for video or images but both things are not incompatible. If you want to change teh monitor go for a IPS-LCD or a OLED one.

The problem is im budget limited, 1050 ti is around 200 euros. How about RX460/4gb does this worth 40 euros + vs 750 ti 4gb used?

The step up from my current monitor, which would make a difference would cost like 1000 euros.

A 4GB 960 would also be a reasonable option if the 1050 Ti is too expensive. NGU doesn't run very well on polaris so the 460 is a bad option for madVR. You want more than 2GB to play 4K content without issues.

Yes, that is the lowest end card I can recommend for madVR. It is good enough even for UHD content but it is not going to be able to run max settings. :)
