Putting together your own trailer show... can it be done?

New member here! I was told this was the place to go. :)

I would like to put together a Blu-ray of horror and exploitation movies to have something fun to play at Halloween parties. Is it possible to rip trailers from Blu-rays and edit them onto one disc? What programs would I need? How would I go about doing it? I'm not extremely tech-savvy, so any help/advice would be most welcome. Thanks!

Of course is possible make a BD with any material than you own.
Maybe is not easy but you can learn and try.

You need convert your material to video/audio BluRay especifications and use a Authoring tool.

So, I'd need three kinds of software, right?

-one to bypass regional coding.
-one to rip the material from the Blu-Ray disc.
-one to edit the material I want onto a disc.

I'm assuming that the multiAVCHD allows me to do the third step. Does it allow me to create a menu as well?

Any suggestions for software for the first two steps?

To extract material from a BD you can use MakeMkv (https://www.makemkv.com/)
Read MakeMKV is free while in beta (https://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053)

I can't help you about "bypass regional coding", here we can help only with material than you legally own.

Of course multiAVCHD can create a menu.
But I'm not a expert in multiAVCHD, please read all info and ask in dedicated threads.

Regional coding does not preclude your personal ownership.
I have several US NTSC TV series (+ a number of singles) DVDs purchased Pre-Owned in the UK (CEX - https://uk.webuy.com/), I guess they should not be selling them, due to playing difficulties in region 2, but they have sold them on a number of occasions to me, did not find out until some time later that they were region 1, just means that I have to rip them to view (or screw up my player, no region firmware fix for current player).

I never have a DVD/BD from other region code, you say there are no problem to rip them with MakeMkv for instance?

I use RipIt4Me (which in turn uses DVDDecrypter [which can remove region code]) for any region DVD rips.
RipIt4Me, can also call DvdShrink, which can also remove region code (but must be already decrypted).

EDIT: I usually use RipIt4Me to rip entire DVD, and then DvdShrink (with compression to unlimited, ie pass-through, not DVD single layer size restricted),
and then rip the VOBs individually as separate DVD file sets, just allows more control on eg languages and subtitles,
or if multiple versions (eg directors cut), then can view and choose which one is required in DvdShrink.

EDIT: RipIt4Me, increases success rate of DvdDecrypter, never as yet been defeated by any Dvd using this combo
(although I think I did once have to additionally resort to PgcEdit or something similar for good rip, dvd seemed to have about 60 versions
of a movie, only one of which was the correctly playing one, best clue was the play time which was different for nearly all of them).
