Hello.
I've discovered MPEG2 video with weird vertical stripes in chroma planes.
EDIT: below is screenshot of only chroma planes of the video, no luma (taken with method described here (https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=157825)).

Is there a way to fix it?

Bad deinterlacing, fatal and irreparable clipping, luma brights and chroma saturation completely blown away. What a shame.

Is this sarcasm or not? Screenshot in first post shows only chroma plane, sorry for not describing this clearly.

Here are normal screenshot taken from this video (problem areas are marked):

Is this sarcasm or not? Not. I'd say you're looking at a minor problem and missing the forrest for the trees. This video was borked a long time ago, in ways you apparently don't see. No, I don 't have a fix for you, sorry. There are so many other and more drastic processing errors that I fail to see the importance of the glitch you mention. It looks as if those errors are there by design. If so, if I had paid for such a DVD I'd return it and ask for a refund. But I'm sure other readers will take this one on. I just don't see the point.
