'cropping' a divx file?

i have a divx avi file that has not been properly cropped ie there are unequal black bars on each side of the movie which is a bit annoying, so i was wondering if there was a program that would just cut a section 5 or so pixels wide off one side, without re-encoding the whole file. i don't have the source for the file so encoding the source again is not an option.

In TMPEG you can crop, recenter, and resize to a custom size.

Unless you're exporting to Uncompressed AVI, there is no way of cropping without reencoding. Well, none that I know of.

You could also just play the movie in PowerDivX4, which seems to cut about 10 pixels off on each side during playback :D

Maybe PowerDivX3 does this also?

just use a player wich can zoom in the video
