I'm using Maestro and it's got a good Featurs to Ease of Use ratio, it's harder to use that DVDIT but much easier than Scenarist. It doesn't import VOB files that I know of. I belive that Quickbuilder does though.

DVDit is just perfect if you don't need subtitle or more audio track.

ReelDVD can import Photoshop layers file as a StillMenu with subpictures. You can have 3 audio and subtitle, very easy to author. The project can be imported into Scenarist later. You can't make any subtitle or language menu, the end user has to use the remote buttons to switch language or subtitle.

Maestro is just perfect. Logical. The best one.

Scenarist is a .... is something for Hollywood. I'm still learning...

But I use most of the time DVDit.

dvdit is fine, but it doesn't do dolby 5.1

still looking for an authoring app that imports vob's/5.1 and outputs in 16:9 with 5.1.

anybody know of one?

Pinnacle Impression DVD Pro

Probably not the best but can do Motion menus, 16:9 AC3, subtitles, audio tracks and more.
Menus are made in Photoshop and being imported into Impression complet.

It's much better then DVDit in any case. some were betwin/with RealDVD.

Pinnacle Impression DVD-Pro is a very good one for the money you have to pay for it. The new 2.2 (beta) has A03 support.

What about Ulead Video Studio DVD 5.0? Any good?

All the Ulead products works well. DVD Movie Factory is just fantastic. Easy, easy and easy is the main caracteristic for the software but you don't have much control over the authoring. It is a template based production line. The next one, DVD Workshop gonna give you more freedom to make menus.

Pinnacle Impression DVD-Pro is the winner if you don't have much money to invest. It gives you max. subtitle, audio tracks. Works well.

Any updates ?

Which one would be the best between :

Pinnacle Impression
Maestro
ReelDVD
Ulead DVD Workshop

Would have to take into account :

ease of use
features
price

At this stage I don't need subtitles and more sophisticated stuff, but I would like to have motion menus / buttons . I have tried Ulead DVD Workshop and it seems easy to use, but their forum is pretty slow going ( nobody to exchange ideas with ).

Ease of use and PRICE, point towards Ulead's DVD Workshop, in my opinion. Other programs discussed on these forums are way out of the price range of most users, for licensed examples.
