have a look at the brightness/contrast settings for the video overlay in your gfx card driver. diferent cards have different settings - some play darker, some brighter.

If it's too dark to play, and if you encode in Vdub/Nandub, you might want to use a levels filter. But only as a last resource.

ok thank you!
but i'm still a little confused about a thing..
i can change the brightness on the overlay control only when i see a divx movie, or also before the conversion, so that all the time i play that divx i dont have to change the brightness?!

i noticed a thing.. if i play a divx movie made on my old computer in this new computer, the brightness is ok, does it means that the video card brightness settings influences the divx only during the encoding process?!

i encode with flaskmpeg, i tryed Mpeg2Avi Px3 but it makes freeze my pc, i'll try Vdub for check this levels filter, is it already in the vdub program or is a separated download?!

sorry for the not perfect english! it's not my mother language!
it's an hard work for me to write!
but i think for you too to understand!
so thanks a lot again!

the brightness setting in the gfx driver only affects the playback of a video. if the videos from your old pc are ok on the new pc there must be another problem.

Use BSplayer to playback divx movies, if found it to be the best.

Use its options to change brightness, and so on...

Had the same problem with geforce. Reinstalled drivers for newer ones and everything was fine. Since detonators series 3 I have never had this problem again.

i'm a little mad at this geforce vido card!!!
i passed all the afternoon trying different versions of its detonator drivers! without any result!
i tryed 21.83, 22.80, 27.20, 27.42 and with each one i always got the same dark divx file!
it means it's the geforce hardware faults in itself?!
i think i'm gonna give up with this divx encoing! i'm a little stressed!!!
if u have any other tip i'll be happy to listen!
thanks to all anyway for all the suggestions already given to me!
