Hi,
I gotta restore GTO, but the version I have has many different issues, from compression artifacts (digital issues) to dot crawl, haloing and raimbowning (analog issues).
I would like to restore it; dealing with noise and haloing it's not a problem, but I don't know how to deal with raimbowning and dot crawl.
I tried to decrawl using:
LUTDeCrawl(ythresh=10, cthresh=10, maxdiff=80, scnchg=100, usemaxdiff=true, mask=false)
checkmate(thr=12, max=18, tthr2=10)
Decrawl(ythresht=7, ythreshs=8, cthresh=2, temporal=80, spatial=100, spatialpasses=3)
and to deraimbow using:
ChubbyRain2(th=10, radius=10, show=false, sft=10, interlaced=false)
Cnr2("xxx",4,5,255)
but it doesn't seem to help much.
I generally don't deal with analog transfer, so I have no clue where to start.
The restore implies cropping to 16:9, denoising, dehaloing, deraimbowning, removing dot crawl, resizing to 1280x720, adding static noise to actually "trick" the brain, leading it to think that there are details and encoding to x264 4:2:0 8bit. It's a kinda old source. This is the source: Link (http://www.gtothegreatsite.it/Personale%20di%20FranceBB/GTOSP.mkv)
Unfortunately, analog artifacts have been introduced during a very poor and badly handled transfer to BetaCAM (crappy VTR and faulty cables, I bet), then it has been transferred to an MPEG-2 file 4:2:0 8bit at 12Mbit/s and then badly encoded in H.264 4:2:0 8bit which introduced digital artifacts. The original MPEG-2 file is not available anymore, along with its timecode and the stl file; this is all I've got.

Example of raimbowning:

Thank you in advance.
