Hi to all the forum's people.
Can someone help me to find an easy solution to get something like "chapters" on my ripped SVCD (I use DVD2SVCD ... and I am happy with it...).
Well, I checked into the "CD IMAGE" tab "Fixed Chapters 60 seconds", but my Pioneer DV444 doesn't see anything about.
So, I can only play the entire movie, and if I want (for example) to go to minute 25, I have to press the fast forwad for some time.... to reach it (and .... wait a lot).
Are there any ways to get easier for "jumping" to a particular point?
Thanks.
Bye
Giorgio

Have you tried using the numerical chapter buttons on your remote? (assuming your remote has them, i would assume it does). The "Next" button didnt produce the desired results? Are you ripping from DVD or is this a previously Non-Chaptered source?

Yes, but I can only select "1" with the "select" or "search" function.
The "next" or "previous" buttons does not work at all.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

You're probably aware of this but I'll mention it just in case:
When you start playing a SVCD on a Pioneer, you must press the play button to have PBC and not the "next" or "1" key. Then you can key in the chapter you want to go to. Unfortunately you cannot "timesearch" with SVCD only VCD/XVCD.

Ok, thanks to everyone.
So, I have to select "DVD CHAPTERS" instead of "every xx seconds".... and now it works.
The only "strange" thing is, as you mentioned, on the Pioneer I get chapters to work (with "next" and "previous" buttons) only if I hit PLAY instead of "Search 1".
However, in this case I loose the ability to see the time track....
It's a Pioneer's strange thing, and using my other player (Mustek 560) this problem does not exist.
However, OK.
Thank you
