View Full Version : Corrupt .MOV file from Dashcam - Really could use it!

My dashcam has been odd recently - it used to auto power down when the car turns off, but now it just turns OFF immediately when the car does.

I ended up getting a parking ticket, and I parked the same direction other people were, and was going to use this footage to help get me out of the ticket.

I tried using VLC to 'convert' the file - no go. I tried using the dashcam software - no go. I had my IT friend try to use a special software (stellar video recovery or something like that) - STILL a no go.

I figured if there was any way to recover this video - someone HERE would know!

Any ideas/tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Post your video. We don't have crystal balls and magic wands.

I think you are screwed. I can't parse anything useful out of that file.

Can you post a short non-corrupt recording from the same camera?

Is your Dashcam's battery dead? That would explain why it works, but powers off immediately.
