Bad links in CODE blocks

The forum now does not auto generate links in CODE blocks,

Unfortunately, if user inserts correct link via HyperLink Insert Link button, then works correctly, BUT, if later editing same post, then the link will become bad 404 NOT FOUND error page.

This is likely creeping through the forum and corrupting links with every edit containing links in CODE blocks.

It should be a priority to fix this problem.

DAMN, its working ok with edit, has it been fixed ? (failed for me a dozen times this morning)

EDIT: Cannot get it to fail now, go figure :(

Sounds to me like you copy-pasted a code block including the shortened display URL. It appears many people seem to screw that up sometimes.

Could be but a number of times link was working, then edit at end of post (not even in the CODE block), and it screwed up.

Perhaps I'm going doolally. :confused:
